Sharing a place: hosting and shared stays
Two different ways to share
Hosting is a standing offer associated with your home. Accommodation sharing belongs to a particular travel plan: for example, an extra bed near a festival or a request to share a rental. Choose the one that matches what you are offering.
Offer or request a stay
Use the hosting option in profile settings, then manage your offer and incoming requests in Hosting. Describe the sleeping setup, capacity, maximum stay, general location and practical notes. Keep the offer active only when you are open to requests.
Guests can send a request with dates, number of guests and a message. The host can accept or decline; a pending request is not confirmation. For a trip-specific shared place, add accommodation details to your travel plan and discuss the arrangement directly with the other person.
Agree before arrival
Confirm the dates, arrival time, sleeping arrangement, accessibility, pets, visitors, quiet hours, cleaning and any expected contribution to costs. Share the exact address privately once you are comfortable with the arrangement. Do not put access codes or sensitive household details in a public description.
Respect the arrangement
Hosting never creates an obligation to provide physical contact, training or companionship. Ask before inviting someone else. Tell the other person promptly about delays or cancellation, and agree how to end a stay if plans change.
The website helps people find and discuss offers. It does not reserve beds, collect accommodation payments or guarantee a host or guest.
