A project long in the making

It began with one simple wish: a group to practise with.

The story behind
acro-yoga.com

That wish became the idea for a shared space where people, communities and events can meet — an open project designed to be imagined, enriched and built by the whole community.

Its role is not to direct the community, but to offer shared space and tools: make groups and events visible, facilitate connections, share knowledge, and help everyone organise, teach or contribute.

Communities already exist around the world, but their information is often scattered across social networks, private conversations and local pages. Events are sometimes discovered too late, and newcomers do not always know where to begin. The problem is not a lack of community, but the difficulty of seeing what exists and connecting with it.

One conviction guides the project: we can make meeting one another easier, provided we build this space together.

How that became this website

01 / Making the community visible

A worldwide community.
Still difficult to find.

Acroyoga is practised everywhere: in parks, studios, festivals, retreats and informal gatherings. Every community has its own energy, habits and ways of communicating. Yet when arriving somewhere new, it is often difficult to know where to practise and whom to meet.

The aim is not to standardise these communities or replace their local spaces, but to offer a shared point of entry. Acro-yoga.com can connect the essential information: active groups, upcoming events, available people and shared resources.

This map can only remain useful when the community keeps it alive. Every event added, every group introduced and every experience shared helps someone else find their place.

02 / Test, learn, build

Several prototypes.
An idea coming into focus.

Before becoming today’s platform, acro-yoga.com went through several prototypes, beginning with simple event listings. Each version helped clarify the needs: reliable information, clear navigation and tools that are genuinely useful to practitioners, teachers and organisers.

There were many ideas, and trying to solve everything at once slowed the project down. The prototypes taught a different way forward: test, listen, simplify, then improve.

Digital tools and artificial intelligence accelerated the building process, but its direction continues to come from conversations, feedback and the needs of the community.

03 / The vision

Arrive somewhere.
Find your community.

Imagine arriving in Montreal, Bali or a small town you do not know. On a single page, you discover classes, jams, festivals, local groups and people looking for practice partners.

That is the experience acro-yoga.com wants to make possible everywhere: less time searching, and more opportunities to meet and practise together.

04 / Supporting the people who share their knowledge

Helping teachers
live from their art.

Teachers help the community grow: they share the foundations, develop new approaches and create spaces where people meet.

Yet being recognised and travelling to teach do not always guarantee a stable livelihood.

Acro-yoga.com wants to help teachers present their work, announce their classes and availability, and reach the people who want to learn from them.

Supporting the people who give so much to acro is an integral part of the project.

05 / Helping the people who bring us together

Less administration.
More time for people.

Organising a jam, workshop or festival involves a great deal of invisible work.

When the goal is to offer the best possible experience, every detail matters, but coordination and administration can quickly take over.

Acro-yoga.com wants to offer tools for working as a team, sharing responsibilities, communicating with participants and managing the organisation more simply.

The aim is clear: spend less time on administration and more time with the people being brought together.

A non-negotiable principle

An open door.
No subscription to discover the community.

Everyone should be able to find the events, groups and people around them, regardless of their means. Discovering the community should never depend on paying for another subscription.

Teachers and organisers already work hard to sustain their livelihoods; the project should not become another obstacle. Keeping discovery free and helping the people who bring acro to life develop their work are complementary goals.
