Find your group first

Search Communities for your city, group, school or practice space. If a page already exists, contact its administrators or the project about managing or correcting it. Keeping one reliable page is more helpful than making several competing copies.

Introduce the community

If no suitable page exists, sign in and create a community. Explain who the group is for, where it meets and how someone can join. Add an accurate location, useful links and a photo you have permission to share. Describe the group's languages, practice styles and any access requirements.

Help a newcomer take the first step

Include a current way to make contact, the next gathering to look for, and whether someone should message before attending. Explain the difference between classes and informal jams. Link relevant events rather than leaving an old schedule buried in a description.

Look after the shared space

Agree which people should administer the page and how they will keep information current. Respect membership choices and do not publish a member's private contact details without consent. Community conversation should stay relevant, welcoming and free of spam.

A directory entry helps discovery; it does not speak for every practitioner in a city. Describe the actual group you manage and leave room for other communities and styles.
